Protection of People Outside of their State: A Comprehensive Analysis

In November 2008 researchers at the CHRSD were awarded funding by the Swiss Department of Foreign Affairs, Government of Switzerland, to undertake research on the topic "Protection of People Outside their State: A Comprehensive Analysis." Using the case study of the South East Asia sub-region, research will be undertaken in 2 parts - the first component will consist of an analysis of the current legal and political framework for people outside of their country, focusing on the inter-relationship between refugees, victims of human trafficking, and migrant workers. The second component will examine the role of organizations working in this field, their programs and activities, and how this responds (and fails to respond) to widespread human rights violations. Results from the research will be made available on this website soon.
