The First International Conference on Human Rights in Southeast Asia will bring together members of the academia, civil society, national and international agencies and the media who work to promote greater understanding and better protection of human rights in the region. It will provide valuable space for dialogue and exchange of knowledge and experience among diverse groups of participants from within and outside Southeast Asia.

Forum on the closure of community radio by virtue of the emergency degree

We are pleased to announce that the forum on the closure of community radio by virtue of the emergency degree will be held on Wednesday 14 July 2010 at Sasa Nives Chulalongkorn University 13.00-16.00 pm.

The forum will be jointly organized by Campaign for Popular Media Reform, The Center for Human Rights Studies and Social Development Mahidol University, The Center for Media Policy Studies, Faculty of Communication Arts Chulalongkorn University, Community Radio and Thai Volunteer Service

The CHRSD is pleased to announce that it has been chosen as the focal point for human rights for the new ASEAN University Network (AUN).

International MA in Human Rights

The total cost for the one year Masters in Human Rights program is 56,765 Thai Baht as of 2009. These costs include tuition and other academic service fees. In addition, for the cost of living, student are advised to budget a mimimum of 3,600 Baht per month for food, rent, and incidental expenses. International PhD in Human Rights and Peace Studies

The total cost of the whole programme of study, which includes tuition and other academic service fees, ranges from 433,700 -534,500 Thai Baht, depending on the academic background of the student. Tuition fees are higher for the first year, when students will be completing seminar based coursework. Upon successful completion of the comprehensive examination, a sliding fee is charged for dissertation research undertaken during the following 2 years. In addition, students from outside Thailand are advised to budget a minimum of 3,600 Thai Baht for their monthly living allowance.
